Transition to Salesforce
As SJP continues its massive program to transition to Salesforce, there are a few temporary limitations along the way. The following answers refer to Digital Clipboard’s relationship with iBusiness and Salesforce during this period.
I’ve created a prospect in Salesforce. Can I use Clipboard or Pre-Meet to update this record?
At the moment, when you create a prospect in Salesforce, this record will sync to iBusiness (one-way only).
You can then pick the record up from iBusiness using Clipboard (or Pre-Meet, once Review Meetings is launched), make updates as needed and sync the record back to iBusiness.
Due to the current Salesforce one-way relationship with iBusiness, this record won’t be automatically updated in Salesforce.
If I create a prospect in Clipboard or Pre-Meet, where will the record appear once I sync?
If you create a new client record in Clipboard or Pre-Meet, a new record will be created in iBusiness once you sync. It won't currently sync to Salesforce.
The ‘Big Move’
Later this summer ( August est. ), there will be a big move, where all the records in iBusiness and the CFR will be migrated to Salesforce.
For Clipboard and Pre-Meet users, this means that records you create or update in iBusiness between now and then will be automatically migrated over to Salesforce as part of this program.
The future is Salesforce
The following answers refer to Digital Clipboard’s relationship with iBusiness and Salesforce once we are integrated to Salesforce.
I’ve created a prospect in Salesforce. Can I use Clipboard or Pre-Meet to update this record?
Yes. Clipboard and Pre-Meet will communicate directly with Salesforce and bypass iBusiness in line with SJP's transition. You’ll be able to pull in records from Salesforce, update and sync back and forth respectively.
If I create a prospect in Clipboard or Pre-Meet, where will the record appear once I sync?
If you create a new client record in Clipboard or Pre-Meet, a new record will be created in Salesforce once you sync. With the CFR now on Salesforce it no longer needs to sync with iBusiness.
We understand that Salesforce will still maintain some integrations to iBusiness and other SJP systems after the transition, however, Digital Clipboard will interact directly with Salesforce.
